Objectives
The course builds on a loose definition of decision, that is, by decision we also mean judgement (What opinion do we form? What do we think?), problem-solving (How do we solve an exercise?) and choice (How do we choose from available alternatives?). Individual and group choice, rational and heuristic decisions are discussed as well: What factors do influence group decisions? What are the threats of group decisions and how to tackle them? What can be done to better include the knowledge of the participants in the process of making the decision? What are the rules of making a decision and how to choose from them? How to prepare and mediate an effective, decision-making meeting?
