The course gives an overview of the most influential trends and special problems of epistemology in order to canvass a large scale philosophical map of the theories of knowledge.

The purpose of this course is to make you able to

  • understand and analyze epistemological theories.
  • use the concepts and arguments of this field properly.
  • combine epistemological views with other approaches to cognition.

  2. Externalism: Social epistemology, virtue epistemology, causal theory of knowledge

  5. Tesimony-introspection (First Essay due)

Meta-epistemology

  1. Naturalized epistemology
  2. Unanalyzable knowledge

Követelmények: 
  • Requirements
  • Knowledge of the reading materials.
  • Essay (60%): Two, 2-4 pages essay, on one of the topics discussed.
  • Test : (40%): The content of the test is the first 30% of the course only.
